An announcement to all ex- TJCian Symphonic Band members; this year, there will be an Alumni Concert Band set up. The committee has been formed, the conductors and MC for the day have also been chosen and it is now boiled down to getting players to join the band.
At the moment, no piece has yet to be confirmed and the committee is still trying to coming up with a concert name. However, that won’t take too long.
Basically, one of the many purposes of the alumni concert is to help sell tickets to sponsor the TJC Symphonic Band’s tour to Osaka. Apart from that, it is also a good opportunity for ex-TJCians to come together, to relish those years of playing under the same conductor, in the same band room.
Anyway, the details are as follow:
Date: commence on February 23, 2008
Time: at 6:30pm
Venue: at the TJC Band Room.
Date: held on August 2, 2008
Venue: at the Victoria Concert Hall (VCH).

- After a special request by SH, I have decided to upload a ZIP version for you guys. So, you will need a compatible ZIP program to unzip the file. Note that the password is still applicable.
If you think that the file size is too big for your pathetic, miserable dial-up connection, let me know.
If you are born in the year of the horse of the Lunar calendar, e.g. 1978, it was advised by the fortune teller that this year (2008) is not a good year, especially to change jobs. I wonder how true can that be, but I do have a feeling that it might be true.
Over the last couple of years, things have been quite smooth-sailing, apart from some disappointing event, but overall I managed to get through them as time passes; hence, I admit that I have been enjoying some of the great few years. As expected, it will come to be a time when horses face an obstacle, which may prove to be decisive to what happen in later part of our lives. This might be that year.

The mention of the name Cristiano Ronaldo is enough to send shivers and fears down the spine of any opponent. The Manchester United winger is currently the top goal scorer in the Premiership League, netting in 16 goals in the Barclay’s Premier League. Second on the list is Arsenal’s striker, Adebayor with 13 goals.
Note that, this young lad is not even a striker, but his goal-scoring rate is almost one goal per game, which ranks him amongst the world’s most devasting players. Having scored 22 goals this seasons for Manchester United; 5 comes from Europe and 1 from the FA Cup.
The next game for Manchester United is against the Royals (Readings) at the Madejski Stadium. Reading boss Steve Coppell has even said to the reporters that,
“…Ronaldo’s goalscoring record is phenomenal for a wide man. You can have nothing but respect for his talents. When I was player I went into the start of a season thinking a goal every six games would be a great return for a winger. But Ronaldo is scoring almost a goal a game – and he’s not even a striker…”
“…He’s scoring goals and he’s also creating things for the team as well. He’s got an awful lot going on in his game and he’s a threat to any side in the world. You can only stand back and admire him because he’s broken the mould in terms of what wide players can do…”
It will be interesting to watch how much further Ronaldo can improve as the season progressed, but we will have to admit that the talent that he has is phenomenal!
I made a trip to Malaysia last weekend, paying a visit to Genting Highlands. Unfortunately, I did not have time to make a post about this, as I was tied up with some other personal and work stuffs; nonetheless, I am not going to let it go unnoticed and decided to pen it down here.
I took a day of annual leave on Friday, January 11, 2008 away from my work. However, I did not bring any laptop with me on my trip this time. Initially, I had planned to do so, but decided not to bring just an hour before I leave my house.
Desmond Weller Ong, a friend of our “almost-regular” weekly badminton session, has suggested two links to book for our court. Badminton courts can be booked from community centres or Sports Complex. The links are given below:
Things are just getting easier with online transactions! Note that, these badminton court bookings are only valid for Singapore.
With compliment from the Elephant Badminton League (EPL)! Still wondering how on earth did ZJ managed to come up with such a name…
At first, I thought I am seeing things, but I noticed that the FireStats that I installed on my site revealed that 696 visitors has visited my blog during the last 24 hours. This cannot be true because I never have more than 10 visitors at any 24 hour range.
On further investigation, I found out that it was StumbleUpon that has been sending those traffic. Apparently, the Baby Panda article is the main reason for the great volume of incoming traffic (check out the screenshot on the right).
In addition, the number is still rising. After publishing this post, the number of visitors have increased by another 10. Hence, thank you so much, StumbleUpon; now that my site is more visible in the Internet regime.
New Update: 3 Hours Later
Three hours later, I went back to check my visitors’ statistics. Guess what? The number of unique visitors over the past 24 hours have risen to more than a thousand (see attachment above). Trust me, there is no Photoshop in this post, I merely took a screenshot of it.
Another Update: Just After Lunch, 2 Hours Later
I just returned from lunch break, which is two hours since my previous update. Guess what, another further 200 more unique visitors driven to the site by StumbleUpon. All simply just because of this Cute Panda Picture article. This is just starting to get exciting!
Final Update: 6 Hours Later After Lunch
This could be my last and final update about FireStats for today, before some more people get annoyed at me for having generated that much traffic. In Summary, the last 6 hours, since lunch, has shown the number of visitors saturating at about 1,400 people. I believe the traffic could have peaked by now and it will be falling very soon, if not already started falling.
Last but not least, whether if it’s a comment or criticism, I appreciate you for dropping a comment on my blog site. Have a great weekend!
