I did an extremely stupid thing this morning; that is, I overwrite my backup copy of the thesis file, which is in Word document, with my latest version. Ok, there is nothing wrong is updating backup copies; the problem is, my latest copy is corrupted! Furthermore, I did not verify that the latest copy was corrupted before I overwrite the backup file.
Oh man, I almost fainted when I tried opening the backup copy of the Word document, the horror that I saw from the screen almost brought my blood pumping to a standstill (see image left). Right now, I am thinking of how to get it rectified as soon as possible. I know that there is a function that can repair and recover Word Document within Microsoft Word, but I have not tried that yet. In addition, I need to verify that the recovered version is devoid of errors.
I foresee a very tough weekend ahead…. sigh…
I almost lost my mobile phone this morning! When I was alighting from the bus, I did not realise that my mobile phone has fell out from my side pocket until the bus has gone to the next bus-stop.
“… if all else goes wrong, just look ahead…“
Sounds true, isn’t it? Not many people will admit it their’s own fault. Sometimes, it is better to stay mum about certain issues, provided that no one will know. Well, whatever it is, there is definitely a risk.
Having clarified yesterday, the trade-in is only meant for a specific model; that is, Acer M5100-9500. The original price tag was $1299, but it was reduced to $1288. With the trade-in offer of $400, the price is further reduced to $888. Hence, instead of the initial thought of paying $300 for a CPU, I ended up paying close to $900 !

Today marks one of the greatest decisive battle towards the English Premiership title. The top 4 four teams will face each other as the title runs towards wire.
Manchester United will host Liverpool at Old Trafford, whilst Arsenal travels to Stamford Bridge to meet Chelsea.
Last night, something unexpected happened to my family desktop, the one that is mainly used by my father and occasionally myself. The system hanged during the process of operating the personal computer. As a hands-on IT expert myself, I prised open the casing myself to investigate what has caused the system failure. Without much analysis, it appears that the CPU fan had failed, causing an overheating of the CPU.
This is no wonder the system would hanged. Intel CPU has a functionality to protect overheating of its processor. If the temperature rises above the threshold value, the CPU will suspend all activities (or processes) and ceased operation. When I accessed the BIOS setup to check the temperature of the CPU, it was fluctuating at an extremely high temperature of 97 degree Celsius!
