Family Day Out in Singapore

April 25, 2008 · Posted in TJC Related · 1 Comment

Singapore

Exactly! Singapore is going to have its very own unique Family Day, known as Family Day Out. It will occur on Saturday, on the 4th week of May every year. Hence, this year will be held on May 24th, 2008.

According to The Straits Times, this might be the pioneer of a possible public holiday in future. How true this is, I’m not sure. Moreover, Saturday isn’t a normal working day. Having a public holiday on a Saturday does not simply make any sense.

Nonetheless, I certain relish and welcome this Family Day Out. One of my TJ friends has already planned out something, which coincidentally falls on this day.

Niggling Backache Problem Resurfaced

April 25, 2008 · Posted in Rant Corner · 1 Comment

Backache ProblemRecall that I have a backache problem last year, such that I have to visit a physiotherapist as the pain was quite intolerable. After a period of time, it seems to have gone away.

However, a few days ago, the niggling problem has returned. I’m not exactly sure what has caused it, because the day before this issue arises, I might have accidentally twisted my neck; perhaps due to bad sleeping posture.

Or it might also due to the weather, as the climate changes quite drastically, hmm is it rheumatism?

Right now, I am ensuring that I do not over exaggerate my back, by constantly standing up after sitting down for a period of time, and also sitting upright, so that my body does not appear to be in a “slough” position.

Hope that this issue will go away soon. It has been quite troubling since yesterday. It’s definitely not a good feeling as it does affect my work.

Fingers crossed and God bless!

Hillary Clinton Wins in Pennsylvania

April 23, 2008 · Posted in Anything · Comments Off on Hillary Clinton Wins in Pennsylvania

Hillary Clinton

Just happen to read the news this morning from MSN website. Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton has won Pennsylvania’s presidential primary yesterday, as she remain as a credible candidate for the Democratic nomination.

Furthermore, it was said that,

“… Clinton, independent analysts and the campaign of Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois had predicted ahead of time that Clinton would win the state, where she enjoyed large leads in opinion polls until recently. But after closing the deficit in the last few weeks, Obama’s advisers said he would have the momentum unless Clinton won by a sizable margin…”

As of the moment, I am indecisive of who to support.

Walking on a Hot Sunday

April 20, 2008 · Posted in Rant Corner · 1 Comment

SunWhat an extremely hot Sunday! I was literally walking under the afternoon sun for a long distance. Gosh! It was extremely humid and luckily, there were trees along the way, so I can be walking under shades.

The next thing I am going to do after reaching home is to take an extremely COLD shower. I’m afraid my European friends must be quite jealous of me at the moment, but well it’s just too hot right here now.

Sabatical Leave for Thesis Day 5

April 19, 2008 · Posted in Thesis · Comments Off on Sabatical Leave for Thesis Day 5

Weibull DistributionToday is, ultimately and undoubtedly, the final day of my leave for the week. So, it simply means I have to make full use of this final precious leave to explore on ensuring the thesis is in tip-top condition.

There is relatively little time left; the deadline is drawing near and the submission is almost due. I have no more leave available to be used for thesis revision, thus if there is any major correction, it may be a real disaster, eventually.

Nonetheless, not to mention, my professor is a highly busy person working on extremely tight schedule. Having to keep an eye on his schedule is already making me quite nervous. This week, I am suspecting that he might be away on holiday to Italy.

Alright, let’s see what I have done for today. The progress is still quite slow, but I managed to settle the Appendices. Primarily, the main sections of the thesis has been dealt with, only without the satisfaction of my professor. I’m pretty sure he’s likely to go through every other chapters, therefore leaving little or no time for more corrections.

In general, I am quite satisfied with the progress over the last few days. If it were not to be the number of days of leave taken to focus on the thesis, I would think that nothing much will have accomplished. Thank goodness.

Right now, I’ll be waiting for my professor’s reply to see what else is needed to be amended. Thank you, Sir!

Linux Body PaintingInitially, I obtained the source from Digg website. But I find it relative intriguing yet fascinating.

The image illustrates a woman who has just underwent body painting. The pictures of the two penguins are so well-defined at appropriated positioned at the right location.

Well, I wished there are more of pro-Linux users out there, and more willing to express themselves artistically. This picture has just received my thumbs-up!
