Cristiano Ronaldo – Back to Training After September Injury

November 18, 2009 · Posted in English Football · Comments Off on Cristiano Ronaldo – Back to Training After September Injury

Cristiano RonaldoThe former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, Cristiano Ronaldo, has been given the green light to resume training, after suffering an ankle injury sustained during the match against Marseille on September 30th and has missed nine games for the Spanish giants.

Ronaldo is ruled out of both legs of Portugal’s World Cup qualifying play-off against Bosnia-Hercegovina.

According to Madrid official Emilio Butragueno,

The doctors will make the decisions. I have the feeling Cristiano wants to be playing already and that enthusiasm could be harmful since it would be terrible if he re-injured himself.

Hope he get back to his best soon.

Sir Alex Ferguson Ban and Fine for Referee Remarks

November 12, 2009 · Posted in English Football · 1 Comment

Sir Alex FergusonThe verdict is out. FA has slapped the Reds’ boss, Sir Alex Ferguson, with a £20,000 fine and a two-match ban for his comments on referee Wiley’s fitness after his side’s 2-2 draw with Sunderland on October 3rd, 2009.

The Manchester United coach has pleaded guilty to the FA’s charge of misconduct and also apologised to the referee, in spite of the fact that he had requested a personal hearing.

From the BBC News, it is mentioned that the suspended sanction will be automatically activated should Ferguson be found guilty of a similar charge before the end of the 2010-11 season on top of any sanction imposed for that offence.

Personally, I think it’s quite unfair; but because he is a man with great status, his offenses are bound to be more serious than others. FA probably find that he has more money and therefore imposed such a huge fine. But, I guess that’s how it works in the English Football Association.

Trying Out Firefox 3.6 Beta

November 12, 2009 · Posted in Applications · Comments Off on Trying Out Firefox 3.6 Beta

Firefox LogoSince last week, I have been trying out Mozilla’s latest browser – Firefox 3.6 Beta. So far, there has been no noticeable difference, but I kind of like using beta releases.

I did, however, encounter one incident when the browser crashed. I am not sure what triggered it really, but it was during when I ran File Manager command from cPanel. I guess, it’s like the Ajax script has become too demanding for the browser to handle.

Nonetheless, the crash wasn’t that bad. It did not completely freeze the application; instead, I was given an option to restart the Firefox to resume where I left off. I suppose this is the “new feature”.
