Several major US websites, including Instagram, Pinterest and Netflix, went out of service early this morning (Singapore time) due to a major outage to a server, caused by severe thunderstorms in North Virginia.

According to Forbes, the outage is said to have occurred at 11:21am (Singapore time) and services, such as Instagram remain offline till now (4pm). Pinterest, however, has acknowledged that their services were restored at 2:05pm. Twitter has been flooded with frustrated tweets from users who are not able to log into their accounts.

Hopefully, the issue can be resolved soon.

20120630-142455.jpgI happened to be browsing through the news today on Channel News Asia, before I came across the article announcing that Google has released an iPad and iPhone app on Apple App Store – the Chrome browser.

Without hesitation, I downloaded the Chrome app on my iPad 2 and started using it right away. This could not have come at the right time as being a user of Apple, but I don’t particularly enjoy Safari browser. Google simply gave me an option.

My experience was simply a breeze. It started with installation of the app through the Apple App Store, which took less than a minute over wifi. Setting up the configuration is also very user-friendly. It allows users an option to disable sending of data or information back to Google, or simply known as opt-out capability. The settings were easily configured without much challenges.

Well, needless to say, I’m enjoying every part of Chrome on iPad right now. You should too,

HOTPOT is Google+

Hotpot or GoogleToday, whilst I was checking out randomly on a particular keyword; that is, “HOTPOT“, which I tried to surf a website [hotpot-dot-com], and guess what shows up. Yes, Google Plus!

Google seems to be buying domain names off the shelf endlessly. By then, there will be one company monopolizing the Internet, when in fact, their slogan is “Do No Evil“?

What an irony!
