According to statement from Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the use of laptops, tablets and other electronic devices is now allowed on Singapore’s national carrier, Singapore Airlines from the time of boarding until disembarkation, as long as there is no transmission of wireless or other data. In other words, these devices must be set to “Flight mode” during this period of time.
Such devices include, but not limited to, tablets, mobile phones, electronic readers, portable electronic devices and MP3 players. The new regulations took effect on 31 May 2014. Note, this may not apply to other airline carriers.
