Apple iPhone 5

As announced on last Friday, Apple offered to replace some older iPhone 5 smartphones that have flawed on-off buttons, which stop working or work intermittently. According to sources from Apple support website, only a small percentage of iPhone 5 models is affected. Owners can validate if their iPhone 5 is in the list from the qualifying serial number provided by Apple.

The California-based company said “…Apple will replace the sleep/wake button mechanism, free of charge, on iPhone 5 models that exhibit this issue and have a qualifying serial number…“.

Free repairs will be offered for iPhone 5 users that fall into the list of qualifying serial number. The replacement process began Friday in the US and Canada and will begin in other countries on May 2.
