Cristiano’s Portugal Out of Euro 2008

One of the greatest upset in the knock-out stage as Portugal was eliminated by Germany from the Euro 2008. Equipped with high expectation, almost everyone is certain that Portgual is able to negotiate past Germany under the management of Scolari, the Big Phil, but it seems the Germany has their own playmaker, Michael Ballack.
What really costs Portugal is their poor defensive play, with two goals finding their way at the back of the net through set pieces. Such is a disappointment end to Cristiano Ronaldo, potentially the Best Player in the World.
However, not all is lost. Ronaldo will now return to reality after been in the controversial rumours about his move to Real Madrid, provided the Spanish giant can afford to pay a ransom fee to Manchester United. But, that will have to be sorted out soon, as he promises the media that he will not talk about it until Euro 2008 is over, or if he is no longer involved in the Euro 2008 competition.
The time has come now for Ronaldo, as Sir Alex Ferguson is likely to sit down with him for a long chat and a cup of tea. Meanwhile, Scolari might, on the other hand, be scheming to persuade Ronaldo to sign for Real. He definitely will not relish the fact of facing his star player (in Portuguese team) coming down against Chelsea, the club which the Big Phil will manage for the start of the next season.
This is going to be exciting! For what I see, Cristiano Ronaldo’s desire is to stay at Old Trafford after he failed to lift his team to the next stage. Inevitably, the result of this outcome could also produce a mindset with the Real Madrid coach that he’s probably not worth that much of an extortion tag.
Whatever it is, the exit is hard to swallow; but it is only the fittest will survive, provided one continue to play football and persue his dreams (not career) and interests.
Viva La, Ronaldo!
