Dinner at Silk Road Restaurant

Silk Road Restaurant

Last night, I attended the JC gathering at the Silk Road Restaurant, located in the Amara Hotel (near Tanjong Pagar MRT station). I did not know the place until the very last minute prior leaving the office to check the Internet for the information. At first, I thought it is along Silk Road, which I don’t even have a clue either where it is.

Of course, it is not situated along Silk Road! It was not too difficult to find, since I arrived by the local Underground system (or so-called Mass Rapid Transit (MRT)).

Okay, things aside, let’s talk about the food. It was great! Featuring several great cusines from China, such as Sichuan, Shaanxi, Liaoning and Beijing; it was an absolutely sumptuous meal! – Thanks Edwin for the great recommendation!

The great thing about it is, there is a special tea-pouring show every Friday, demonstrating 18 various ways of tea-pouring skills, e.g. of Ba Bao Cha or Green Tea, using an extremely long spout teapot (see picture below).

I am not a great describer of food, but if you are interested, you can find it from the address below.

The address is:
Amara Singapore, Level 2, 165 Tanjong Pagar Road
