Family Day Out in Singapore

Exactly! Singapore is going to have its very own unique Family Day, known as Family Day Out. It will occur on Saturday, on the 4th week of May every year. Hence, this year will be held on May 24th, 2008.
According to The Straits Times, this might be the pioneer of a possible public holiday in future. How true this is, I’m not sure. Moreover, Saturday isn’t a normal working day. Having a public holiday on a Saturday does not simply make any sense.
Nonetheless, I certain relish and welcome this Family Day Out. One of my TJ friends has already planned out something, which coincidentally falls on this day.
