Get Smart - Comedy Version of James Bond 007
Written on June 22, 2008 – 10:53 pm | by Keith NeoGet Smart (2007)

Watching the movie, Get Smart, is almost like watching James Bond 007, albeit that it is more of a comedy form rather than full action pack with explosives and near misses. On the other hand, it’s not entirely comedy, as compared to Austin Powers!
Starring Steve Carell, co-hosting with Anne Hathaway, the agent-wannabe has always dreamt of becoming a true real agent who would want to enjoy life out in the field. However, because he is so good at what he’s doing, he was denied promotion. (Imagine how cruel life may be, but it does happen in our practical world)
Inevitably, his role to become a secret agent was realised after the centre that he was working for was under seige, probably double-crossed by another agent. That was not explained clearly in the plot, but the focus is to assign him to become Agent No. 86, to work with No.99. Towards the end, he was double-crossed, but it was still quite a nice piece of film in the making.
There is no lack of laughters along the way, as the movie proceeds. I would suggest that this is a nevertheless an excellent piece of comedy-type James Bond movie to watch (with a little bit of fanciful gadgets involved).
Comments
- Recommendation 7/10 - Go for it! I never know I would like the show until I’ve watched it. The director has effectively combined the humourous side of the movie with an all action-pack show.
- Comedy - Guaranteed laughter throughout the show, unless you’re not a human being. Or don’t understand English. Even so, you should still see the facial expressions.
- Scene analysis - Nice scenery, coupled with a few explosives. It’s definitely quite a good movie in the taking, as far as scenes are concerned.
- Ending - Ending is expected, as most people would feel; but it’s the happiness that counts isn’t it? As long as you’ve enjoyed the show thoroughly.
Oh well, I shall not make you feel the itch. Drop down to the nearest cinema and catch this show.
