Host Matrix Forum Hit Badly

Hostmatrix Forums LogoAs far as this is HostMatrix Forums is concerned, it is bad news. The forum is suspected to be hit by sabotage or loss of data caused by the migration of Data Centre from one location to another. The bottom line is, no backup seems to be available.

During the initial outage, the site was not available for a couple of days. My friend, Al Carlton, was well aware of the situation as he hurried to restore the forum back live. However, restoring seems to be a more daunting task than said.

I have not yet spoken to him; neither any of the forum (regular) members as well. Back from shell-shocked news of his friend’s departure, having to face this backlash from system’s point of view, is not something easy to take. Furthermore, as a CEO of Coolest Gadgets, the priority over at the other end is definitely higher as the site brings him a massive close to $500,000 revenue.

Having known him for quite some time, I believe HostMatrix is not out of his action task list. Al may need a couple of days to look into the matter. Furthermore, there has been quite a number of screw-up by the Web Hosting Service Provider. Not that I know which company that is, but I hope that, since the service is out-sourced to them, it’s the Service Provider’s responsibility to ensure that outage is minimal.

While the rest of the forum members are waiting patiently for the restoration of the site (to achieve stability); this also probably teaches us a good lesson…

Always back up your web site!
