iOS 6

Ever since Apple announced the release of iOS 6 two weeks ago, it has aroused interests from several gadget lovers, including but not limited to iPhone fans and Android fans.

iOS 6 is a major version jump from its previous version of 5.1.1. One of the significance change is the removal or replacement of Google apps. YouTube app has been removed completely, and Google Map apps has been replaced by its home-made Apple apps. Since iOS 4, we have been living and breathing with these 2 heavily used apps in iPhones and iPads, their sudden absence has certainly caused an uneasiness in the Apple consumer community.

Where I am located (in Singapore), Apple Map app has not been that terrible. It still managed to locate the places where I wanted to go to. On the other hand, like what most netizens have voiced out, things could be different if I were to be in the UK or US.

I have got this feeling that battery life has been enhanced, following the upgrade to iOS 6. Not sure if this is psychological or not, but it does seem to be more efficient in managing the power on my iPhone 3GS. Nevertheless, I do noticed it takes a longer time to fully charge the device.

Last but not least, I am still enjoying some of the (new) features of iOS 6 on iPhone 3GS.
