Cristiano Ronaldo 2 Strikes Against Arsenal

The key to unlock Arsenal defense – Cristiano Ronaldo. Going into 2nd leg with a 1-0 advantage to Manchester United, Sir Alex Ferguson knew what is required to ensure progress to the Champion league final – an away goal! With the away goal rule in the UEFA ruling, it simply means that Arsenal would need 3 goals against Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium. Unfortunately, that did not really materialise.

It took no more than 10 minutes for the Red Devils to get the away goal; from the mistake of Arsenal young defender, as Park Ji-Sung struck into the back of the net.

What is even more amazing is that the 2nd goal came for Manchester United three minutes later. A superb rocket from 41 yards from Cristiano Ronaldo, leaving keeper Manuel Almunia rooted.

Manchester United has played the game with such ruthlessness, with Wayne Rooney and Park operating along the flank, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo as the lone striker. The Portuguese international speed is completely awesome as he terrorised the defense at such great fear, especially it comes directly into from the centre of the frontline.

The 3rd Manchester United goal was a complete demolition of Arsenal, demonstrating the catastrophic power of the Red Devils. From defence to counter attack, the goal started from Vidic, arrives at the foot of Ronaldo as he back-heeled to Park, who pushed the ball up front. Park then directed the ball towards Rooney who supports him on the left and with one touch, redirected the ball to Ronaldo, who has been supporting the attacking line since his back-heeled. Within reaches, Ronaldo strike it with pace into the back of the net; all within a space of 10 seconds.

The style of play was a sensation to watch, only to be “destroyed” by Fletcher’s red card, who will miss the Champion League final. A penalty is the result, which Robin van Persie took it skilfully. At the end of the night, it’s 4-1 aggregate to Manchester United.
