Premiership Top 4 Dropped Points

Written on November 23, 2008 – 12:40 pm | by Keith Neo

Barclay's Premiership Table on November 22Yesterday (Saturday) saw the falter of the top 4 teams in the Barclay’s Premiership League. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United all had goal-less matches against their respective opponents. Only with the exception of Arsenal, which experienced the 3rd defeat in 4 games against Manchester City with 3-0 in favour of Manchester City.

With a loss to Arsenal, they have dropped to 5th position, allowing Aston Villa to crept into the top 4 place. Judging from the table, the top 7 teams, including Hull and Everton, have the potential to move into the top 4 positions. However, the chances still favour Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

Microsoft Windows Live Hotmail is Terrible

Written on November 22, 2008 – 10:56 pm | by Keith Neo

Windows Live MailMicrosoft’s Windows Live Mail is getting worse day by day. It originally started off as Hotmail, using the classic interface. Although there is not much feature, but it works like a charm.

As time passes, with the emergence of GMail and Yahoo! Mail, Microsoft was faced with competitors’ challenges. In order to meet the market’s demand for better feature and end-user’s comfort, Hotmail was later renamed to Window Live Mail. A brand new interface was introduced to the application, mainly utilising java scripts on its features. However, there was a fall-back option for those who prefer to use the classic version.

Just only recently, a few weeks ago, Microsoft completely migrated all accounts to utilise the advanced version of Windows Live Mail. Although I welcome the move, there was a lot of things that remained broken! It does not work well in a lot of browsers; including Mozilla Firefox and Google Chrome. Not to be surprised, I had difficulties accessing Windows Live Mail on it’s own software - Microsoft Internet Explorer! What an irony.

I just wondered, what else can be used to access Windows Live Hotmail. I can only hope that the Microsoft developers do something that is really helpful to the public and not just restrict the application to its own circle. Everything has become globalised; same here in the IT industry as well. Better develop something that is open to all, rather than trying to monopolise on the market - because as time passes, there will be more people, who are experts in this profession to steal the pie. Things has to change…

Top Premiership Scorer - 21 November 2008

Written on November 21, 2008 – 6:31 pm | by Keith Neo

Barclays Premiership League Top ScorersHere are the top scorers to-date of the Barclay’s Premiership League. Last year, Cristiano Ronaldo top the chart with an outstanding personal goal haul of 42; most of which came from the Premiership.

Having missed a few matches at the start of this season, he has actually reached 8 goals scored for Manchester United. However, Anelka from Chelsea has managed 12. I do have great belief in Ronaldo to hit top form, the same way he did it last season for the team.

Anything can happen in English football, who knows he might break his scoring record again this season?

Blog Site Upgraded to WordPress 2.7 Beta 3

Written on November 20, 2008 – 11:26 pm | by Keith Neo

WordPress Logo in BlueAs I have mentioned previously about upgrading WordPress, everything seems so sleek and easy with the Automatic Upgrading feature embedded in the latest (unofficially released) version of WordPress 2.7.

To be frank, all WordPress users will love this! Imagine in the past when WordPress talked about the quick 5-minute upgrade? WIth this feature, we are talking about quick 5-second WordPress upgrade - only with the click of a button!

With that feature, my site has upgraded its version to the latest nightly build of WordPress 2.7 Beta 3. I have to admit that this is a cool piece of application.

Pricking and Receiving a Needle

Written on November 20, 2008 – 11:18 pm | by Keith Neo

Needle for InfusionDid I ever mention before how much I am so perturbed about National Service recall? This is one of the reasons - getting myself pricked with a needle, as well as pricking others with a needle.

The course is known as CCAC, aka Combat Casualty Aided Course if I get that right. Apart from learning bandages and CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resusitation), I have to undergo Infusion training; that is, learning to prick someone with a needle and make sure blood oozed out from the veins through the tube. Naturally, it was not meant to flow out, but for the liquid (water) to flow into the blood stream.

The worst part is, getting myself pricked by someone! Yes, I did.

NS Call Up - Briefing

Written on November 18, 2008 – 8:26 pm | by Keith Neo

SAF MotorcycleI had a one-day in-camp briefing to prepare for the most rigorous period of all time as NS Men - ATEC Phase 2! I felt everything was so like exam-based, such that the unit is treated as though the evaluation is a must-pass thing.

Began at noon time, I was almost late for the session, as the cab driver was not familar with the route. We wasted about 10 minutes trying to find the place, unknowingly he was travelling in the opposite direction, even further away from the camp.

Nevertheless, I managed to arrive at the destination before the briefing commence. So, lucky me! Now, I am so tired at the end of the day. Good thing that I had a bottle of Scotch whisky to accomopany me.
