Panasonic THL42ET5S – Courts Singapore

Last night, I went to Courts to do some research on LED Television to replace the current one that I have at home, which is an ancient old dinosaur, CRT Television.

No, there is nothing faulty about my current TV, except that it is not too good to the eyes, staring at the screen that refreshes from Cathode-Ray Tube (CRT); therefore, I would prefer something that’s cooling to the eyes and has substantial energy-saving capability – LED TV.

Courts is naturally the preferred location, as it’s near my place, and secondly, it is undergoing “severe” price reductions. What did not cross my mind is, I would actually decided to buy one on the spot!

I was introduced 2 different sets by the Sales person. The initial one was a 38-inch Sony LED TV. I am an avid fan of Sony products, so this is a natural selection for me. However, it lacks 3D Technology, yet costing a hefty $738, although it does comes with Smart Technology. The other thing was that the stock is not available in-house.

This prompt me to look at a different model, Panasonic, as recommended by the Sales Person. It is a 42-inch Smart VIERA 3D Full HD LED TV. Priced at $1099, I was offered a further discount and I bought it at $968 – totally off my budget, but I guess that is worth it for a long run. See below for detailed technical specification of Panasonic THL42ET5S.

After bringing it home, I started installing it, which took about an hour to complete, considering the fact that I need to take down the existing heavy 37-inch CRT TV. I spent a couple of hours watching the newly-bought equipment, and I have to say, I’m pretty satisfied with it.

I ended up watching “The Love Guru”, with complete satisfaction.
