Pay Rise for Singapore Teachers – Up to 8% over Gross Salary
According to the Ministry of Education (MOE) in Singapore, teachers in Singapore will be getting a pay rise with effect from 1st September 2012 as part of Teacher’s Day gift. This will affect more than 26k teaching staffs in Singapore island-wide.
Depending on their job grade and position, the 8-percent salary adjustment could mean an increase of up to S$550 (or up to S$830 for some),to their gross monthly salaries. In addition to that, support staff members will also receive a pay adjustment of up to 15 percent.
I strongly believe from this move that Singapore is seriously lacking of talented teachers. It has to take the government to go through this measure of attracting people to the academic field.
