Singapore Banks Running Low on New Currency Notes

Singapore Notes

This is really amazing. Singapore banks are running low on new currency notes! I have walked into a couple of banks within a vicinity, e.g. UOB, OCBC and POSB, just to name a few. I was surprised at how quick Singaporeans are to “gobble up” new notes when Chinese New Year is round the corner.

Two days before the festive season, this is what the statistics are for the following banks:

  • UOB (United Overseas Bank) – All new currency notes, except for $2 notes, are out of stock.
  • OCBC (Overseas Chinese Bank Corporation) – No new currency notes available.
  • POSB (Post Office Saving Bank) – $50 note is no longer available. The rest, i.e. $2, $5 and $10, are fast soon to be exhausted

Well, if you are waiting to get your hands on new currency notes, just to let you know, time is running out!
