As a common user of WordPress, Akismet has always been the default plugin that I will activate in any WordPress, irregardless of its popularity level. The result has always so pleasing - Akismet managed to squeeze out every single potential spam that has been plagarising my sites. Absolutely no worries. So far, there has been no negative-positive case.
