firefox logo Upgraded Portable Firefox to Version 3Portable Mozilla Firefox 3.0 was already released as soon as Mozilla officially launched Firefox 3 last Tuesday. My Linux system (Ubuntu) has automatic upgrade function using the Package Manager and that works fine. On another operating system, running Windows Vista, the Firefox browser has also been upgraded to version 3.

Now, it is left with my laptop, which runs Portable Mozilla Firefox 2. I was quite hesitant to upgrade, worrying that it might break some features or functionalities. And honestly, it took me quite some time before deciding that this is the way to go – Firefox 3.

Thus, I simply download the setup application, and run the installer program. The installed location was defined to the previous location which I placed my Firefox 2. Amazingly, it works fine without a hitch. Of course, I did something extra. I uninstalled all plugins before running the application. Now, with the portable version of Firefox 3 running on my laptop, it’s time for me to re-install back those plugins.

Anyway, what I’d like to say is Great Work to PortableApps!
