Working off at McDonald’s

Waking up before 7 every morning is not an easy feat, these few days have been a routine for me. I find that waking up before dawn is rather refreshing, and I feel that I have the entire time in the day for myself; which is a good thing. Since I am up early, I decided to have a meal at the McDonald’s today, and perhaps do my work here. The good thing about working at McDonald’s is that there is free Internet access, and with drinks accompanied along the way.
My day has just started not long ago, and the time is about half past 8. So, while it is important not go get distracted and carried away with blogging. I should stop here and resume my thesis-editing. I really hope I can finish Chapter 4 by today, if not, latest by tomorrow.
So far, I have drunk a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. My concentration has been great. So far, I have revised 3 sections in Chapter 4. Now, I just need to persist on.
After some time….
Time passes, it seems that I have slow down. I am still currently on the third section of Chapter 4. Apparently, this third section requires a fair bit of makeover, and hence take me a wee bit of time. Lunch was at McDonald’s as well - I ordered myself a 6-piece chicken McNuggets meal, at S$5.90. The time now is 1304hrs, as according to my laptop; and I am going back to get mugged with the thesis.
After some time later…
Well, things sure do get better by now. The time is 1525hrs and I have accomplished up to the fifth section of Chapter 4. It was tough, indefinitely. This section is likely to take me much longer time because it comprises of a huge major contribution of the thesis. Meanwhile, I am having a cup of coke and coffee, which I had in the morning, to accompany me on the desk. The place is crowded with lots of students - mainly from secondary school (high school level). Others include polytechnic students as well as undergraduates. Just right in front of me, sits three business course students - as I can see from their Accounting materials. McDonald’s is always flustered with customers at this late afternoon, especially students are finishing classes and the working class having late lunch.
The noise level is increasing, and the temperature is dropping. It could probably because of the increasing number of people in the restaurant that prompted the manager to power up the air-conditioning system. I certainly do feel chilly. Nevertheless, I am quite happy with the progress I had set out today. But right now, while I am having this sheer enthusiasm, I had better continue…
Finally….
I cannot endure further. It is 1633hrs. I have to get out of this place. My concentration is running low and it is imperative that I seek solitude somewhere else, e.g. at home. Anyway, I had quite a reasonably good accomplishment. The fact that I managed to handle up till the fifth section of Chapter 4, is already an achievement which I never thought I could reach. Anyway, Cheers to myself!
